Contract size, commission and leverage all come from the Symbols data. Swing accounts carry a lower leverage than normal accounts.

Position size · lots at your stop

4.90 lots

Risking $1,000.00 from 1.0800 down to 1.0780, with $4.00 per lot commission included.

Size at other stop distances, same $1,000 risk

A wider stop at the same risk means a smaller position. Commission is part of what a losing trade costs, so it is taken out of the risk before the size is worked out.

Risk amount$1,000.00
Position value$529,412
Margin required at 1:50$10,588.24

How the position size is calculated

The risk amount is your account balance multiplied by the risk per trade. The position size in lots is that amount divided by the loss per lot at your stop, plus the commission per lot.

The required margin is the position value divided by the leverage. Leverage follows the selected challenge and the instrument, so a size that fits your risk can still be blocked by the leverage limit.

The bars show how the size changes at other stop distances with the same risk.

What to enter

Enter your account balance, the share of it you want to risk on the trade, and your entry and stop prices. Buy or sell makes no difference, only the distance between the two prices counts.

Selecting an instrument sets the contract size and commission, and together with a BEM challenge it sets the leverage. Switch to Custom to enter your own leverage.

Always check the official challenge terms for the conditions that apply to your account.

These calculators provide estimates for educational purposes only. Actual drawdown calculations, consistency requirements and breach conditions depend on the official challenge terms. Always review the relevant terms before trading.

Now pick the challenge that fits those numbers.
