Question mark

Can I trade news?

Yes, news trading is fully permitted during the evaluation phase of the BEM One Program. You may freely open, close, and manage trades during High-Impact News events while completing the evaluation.

Once you become a BEM Trader, specific restrictions apply to traditional assets during High-Impact News events.

Restricted Window

A restricted window applies 4 minutes before and 4 minutes after a High-Impact News event.

For news speeches, the restricted window begins 4 minutes before the speech starts and ends 4 minutes after the speech concludes.

During the restricted window, you must not:

  • Open new trades, including market executions or limit orders
  • Close trades, including market executions or limit orders
  • Place, modify, or trigger Stop Loss or Take Profit orders
  • Place Buy Stop or Sell Stop orders

Affected Instruments

Restrictions apply only to instruments impacted by the news event. For example, USD-related news may affect instruments including, but not limited to EURUSD, GBPUSD, USDCHF, XAUUSD, GER40, US30, US100, and US500.

Cryptocurrency pairs are not subject to news trading restrictions.

Trading strategies designed to capitalize on High-Impact News are not permitted at any time. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Directional news trading
  • Straddles and strangles
  • Capitalizing on the initial price surge after news releases
  • Opening trades immediately before or after a news event to benefit from market movement

What happens if this rule is breached?

If a prohibited action is executed within the restricted window, any simulated profits earned during that window will be removed. Losses incurred during the restricted window remain the user's responsibility.

Each violation of this rule is considered a soft breach. If a trader accumulates three (3) soft breaches, the account will be terminated.

Compliance controls may be performed at any time.

Note: BEM Funding advises subscribers to consult the economic calendar shared daily on our official Discord and Telegram channels for guidance on upcoming High-Impact News events.
